Vistered Little 1.7.5 has just been released. You spoke. We listened.
Vistered Little now supports the Gallery2 plugin for WordPress (WPG2). ![]()
It also supports older WordPress 2.0 installations. We understand that upgrading can be scary for those who are not familiar with it (It's actually surprisingly simple), so now Vistered Little won't force you to.
Vistered Little now has localisation that actually works.
We want you to enjoy publishing in whatever language you like. We only have partial translations for Spanish and German at the moment, so if you can complete the translations or if you translate it into another language, please share the love and send us your po files for others to enjoy.
There are a whole heap of other updates as well. You can find out more in the Vistered Little Release Notes.
Enjoy
Excelent theme.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: utw_showcurrenttagset() in /home/*****/public_html/wp-content/themes/vistered-little-1/header.php on line 6
:S Please help
It’s a great theme, but I think there’re some bugs. Tag function does not work, whenever I click a link in tag cloud, it says:”Fatal error: Call to undefined function: utw_showcurrenttagset() in /home/hkvnr/public_html/nhadien.net/blog/wp-content/themes/vistered-little-1/header.php on line 6″
Tom,
What plugin are you using for your threaded comments to work so nicely with v-l?
Thanks, Craig
Whoops, guess I should have read. Sorry!
For everyone else’s info (so that don’t have to go searching) it’s YATCP
Thanks again Tom!
Dammit, I knew I had another stoopid kweschun for ya: How does one enable the “reply” in the comments? It’s a great feature for one aspect of what we’re trying to do here, and I’ve been looking for the config info, but no luck so far… probably after I post this and go back to wanking about with it, I’ll find it right away (like the Banner vs Banner 2 thing).
Just install and enable YATCP
Mmmmm… nope. I d/l’ed it, installed in whatever/plugins and… nothing. I went and looked at the install instructions on the site, and it mentions single-post function which I don’t find. Also, the v-l.1.7.5 index.php has some references already to yatcp functions and does have a yatcp_comments.php
I’ll poke at it some, as soon as I figure out why someone’s Windoze box has a screwup with PS2 keyboard: works while booting, e.g. in bios – but quits working once Windoze starts… weird… virus? spyware? adware? Hu nose? Gets better, a usb keyboard works, but not PS2. Oi.
Very weird.
Okay – yatcp is installed as d/l’ed from its daddy; is enabled. As mentioned, I looked at the additional instructions on the daddy site (I think it’s organisiert.net) but they seem N/A for vistered, since there is already code referencing yatcp – is that correct? I mean, theoretically no other setup, just install the plugin and activate?
By the way – I was going to check the release notes linked in your post, but…

Thanks. It’s fixed now.
I forgot – here’s a question.
I want to use my own background wallpapers, and in 1.7.3 and .4 they seemed to work – all I did was add my jpg’s to the wallpaper directory and it seemed to be okay.
Now in 1.7.5 I add my three or four jpg’s and two things happen: 1) the thumbnails for those are not shown, 2) the thumbs that are shown do not correspond to the actual wallpapers.
How do I (re)build the thumbs? I don’t think it was necessary in the previous versions – maybe they weren’t needed, or maybe the thumbs were automagic?
Thanks – Tex
Thumbs where kind of automagic previously, but in a bad way (forcing the loading of the entire wallpaper, just to show the user a thumbnail). Each wallpaper now requires a corresponding thumbnail in the wallpaper/thumbs directory. Add the missing thumbnails and the thumbnails and wallpapers should match up again.
I’d love to – how? The server is a Fedora Core 4 box.
Thanks – Tex
before you upload your wallpapers, open them up in a graphics program (Photoshop, GIMP, etc) and shrink/crop them down to 20px x 20px. Save this as your thumbnail.
Aw, hell… “I knew THAT…” (family motto)
I tho’t perhaps you had some automagic.
Truth to tell, I recall doing something exactly like this with ImageMagick, thumbing pics of customers and their cheques (although I think they were basically 100×100, and the customers were jpgs while the cheques were tiffs), I just don’t have that old IM code handy… Guess I’ll have to go dig it out.
Tell you what – if and when I find it, I’ll try to remember to shoot you a copy, if you want it.
Thanks – Tex
I hate to “cross-post”, but I’d left three or so comments (questions, bug reports, whatever) on another message… got an answer to the first one (had to use WP 2.2) but not to the others.
I have a really aggravating problem, and I’m hoping you have some idea about it – following is the same info referred in the other post:
Using v-l 1.75 when editing some posts, upon “save” or “publish” php breaks. Sometimes the new or edited post is not saved, sometimes it is, but the net result is that admin mode displays a blank screen… going to another theme (I use the “Blank WordPress Theme”) will get it back, and allow editing with no breaking. Switching back to v-l allows the blog to display, and admin works until a post is edited or added. Specifically, the php error log shows it crashing with a memory leak in class-snoopy.php line 229.
Sorry, I missed you’re earlier comment. I’ve replied to your question over in Bugs
Yeah, the automagic part is on my to do list. Very similar to the code used to resize the images in my Resolution Independence Demo
Okay – the imagemagick (at least on my Linux boxes – dunno about Windoze) is this:
mogrify -resize 60×60 *.jpg
adjusted to suit.
I copied my jpgs to the thumbs sub-dir and ran the above line. No thumbs.db needed, now the images show up when enabled.
Now that I’m making some good progress in this part at last, tell me: what do you do to put the box at the top with the links in it? Yours is google ads, but it seems like pretty much anything could be put in the box, no?
Thanks for the imagemagick tip.
The “box at the top” is configured as a dynamic sidebar, called “Banner”. Just drop some widgets in it and away you go.
Yarrr – I fugred that out – the first time I tried I put it in Banner 2, and it “broke” the skin (see my stoopid kweschuns in “Bugs”), but it came in mostly okay when I put a text widget in Banner.
I say “mostly” because it takes up title space, whether you leave title blank or not, and it took some playing to set font (size etc) differently. Takes some playing, obviously.
Still, it’s wonderful stuff. Thanks again!
Have you got any other comment plugins active or do you have any special WP modifications regarding comments? I remember you had some issue with comments before.
Re: yatcp. You are right, with VL it should be just install and activate.
My entire supply of active plugins here is skinner, presentation toolkit, and now yatcp.
The only thing I saw that was remotely questionable was the yatcp_comments.php dated 6/18 in the theme root, but I checked the zip and it came from your file, so I’m assuming (always dangerous) that it’s okay…
I could stick some code in somewhere to see what’s going on, if you can point me at the right place…
