I've got to say I'm very impressed with Meebo. If you've been to Windy Road recently, you may have noticed the chat widget on the side, that allowed you to IM me, without needing to go to another page or download some software.
Well, now Meebo has released a chat room feature and I've updated the widget accordingly. It was just so easy to add to the site and it just works. Round of applause for Meebo.
The only problem I do have is that because I'm an early adopter, the Windy Road Chat Room happens to be quite popular and thus is getting a lot a random chatters dropping in, who know nothing about Windy Road or any of it's article or software. I'm kind of dreading what's going to happen to the room when I'm not online tonight.
Update 2007.05.20
OK, so maybe Meebo isn't as great as I thought, or at least it's widgets aren't. I ended up removing the embedded chat room because it was simply blowing out the page load times by a huge amount. Oh well.
Some of you (especially the Vistered Little users) may be wondering what I've been up to lately. Well the good news is I've been really busy, which is why there haven't been many updates lately.
Busy with what? Well, here we go:

The default-flex theme was getting a little heavy for my liking and with inspiration from Chris vs Chris I decided to create a lighter version of the default and default-flex skins for vistered little. You can download them using the links below. Just extract them into you skins directory and change the skin via the 'vistered little 16a' section of the presentation panel. Enjoy.

I have just stumbled upon the Vistered Little Theme for WordPress and I have to admit I'm smitten. I've switched the site to use it and in the process found a few bugs/issues:
- The default wallpaper is not available in the wallpaper list
- The wallpaper thumbnails require the entire set of wallpapers to be downloaded, making the site very very heavy (at least on first load)
- There are extra images in the images directory that are not references (e.g. old wallpapers)
- There is some redundant PHP code and redundant generated CSS/JS
I've tweaked the theme to fix these issues and you can download it for yourself below:

Not so much a redesign, but a switch. I'm now using wordpress to manage the site's content. I managed to find the same theme I was using for wordpress, so I'm a happy camper.
While the update is in progress, you can access still access the old site; I hope to transfer the rest of the content/links soonish.
Well I've re-designed this site three times in probably as many weeks and resigned my self to the fact that when it comes to web design, I suck. Fortunatly for all of us, the folks over at OWD have come to the rescue and I've managed to adapt one of the design templates there.
I'm not much of a fan of repetetive work, and didn't really want to just replace the content with my own. Instead I extracted the important bits into PHP functions, so each page is mostly content and a couple of book ends. Should be pretty easy to maintain.
