JS Stopwatch
JS Stopwatch is an XHTML and Javascript based Stopwatch utility. It can run directly from the file system (no web-server needed), works within any relatively modern browser and automatically resizes to fit the size of the browser window.

Why?
Good question. Recently I volunteered as a guinea pig for a medical study at The Garvan Institute. In between the assorted poking a prodding, they displayed frustration with their existing stopwatches, which show hours, minutes and seconds, rather than just minutes and seconds. They were able to find some stopwatches for sale online that show minutes and seconds, but the $200 price point was a bit steep. So, instead of $200 a pop, I've created this little utility that they can now use on pretty much any recently modern computer.

Would this work as a widget on my Mac?
From the very little I know about OS X widgets, this technique should work.
The stopwatch is thirteen beans. One teensy typo-type problem on the page:

At the bottom is a note about the “garvin” institute… which turns out to be “garvan” instead. While I’m sure they never perform an oral examination on the proverbial beneficatory equine, it would be nice if their name were spelt correctly, eh?

tres biens – i’m sure there’s an accented e somewhere in the character set, but i’m too lazy to find it.
i gave a copy of the watch to my favorite wife, with an icon on her windoze desktop so she can pop it up quick like a bunny when bores walk into her office and sit down – the screen’s behind her desk and the seated bores have a clear view of the time ticking away…
what i need to do is skim up enough js to add a configurable $ amount and split the screen so it shows time and money, sorta like a gas pump, so the bores can see how much it’s costing them to chit-chat…
then the next step would be to quantize it for cases such as “$150 per hour rounded to the next quarter hour” so the screen would start at $37.50 (hourly/factor) and turn over at 0:15:00.00 etc.
