Theme Sponsorship

The current version contains three links to the Vistered Little homepage2 and one link to windyroad.org3. You are free to remove these links and can do so easily via the options page4.
Personally I do not support theme sponsorship and I believe it does a disservice to the community. There is an article over at WLTC, 'On Sponsored Themes' that does an excellent job of detailing the issues regarding sponsored themes.
- A sponsored theme is one that contains advertising linking to an unrelated site that the designer has been paid to include in the theme [back]
- one link in the meta section of the sidebar, one in the footer and one not viewable to users in the xhtml head section [back]
- also in the footer [back]
- Only available when the Presentation Toolkit plugin is activated [back]

I agree completely.
In my opinion, embedding sponsored links in themes is incredibely nefarious. I’ve recieved several offers but will never release a sponsored theme.
Yeah, I got a couple of offers not long after I released 1.7.0, so I kind of suspected you had received similar offers. I don’t normally bother replying, though I’m tempted to ask them if they are offering whatever the amount is, simply because purchasing AdSense of equivalent ads on all those sites would be so much more expensive.
